A
DAY TO REMEMBER IN LE MANS

At 9.05 a.m, in Le Mans (France), 15 all-new Formula Renault 3.5 World
Series cars had stepped into the track for the very first joint test.
None of the fifteen entered teams has failed to attend this big momento.

            The
World Series by Renault Teams engineers spent all day yesterday
in the garages with the technical staff from Renault Sport Technologies,
as well as all the technical partners involved in the championship.
The Teams worked very hard until late but the sound of the first
425 Bhp engines over the track this morning when we stepped into
the Circuit revealed that all that work was not in vane.
            The
teams are attending this test for two days with one single car.
The next test in Valencia will see both cars on track.
            It
has been a day for history in the Buggatti track at Le Mans (France).
After completing some installation laps, the drivers have started
to discover this high-performance car powered by a new 425 Bhp 3-5
litre V6. Teams and drivers had spent the day checking all the systems,
and during the afternoon most of the drivers were set for longer
              runs.
            Although
the time was never a priority, the German Markus Winkelhock, driving
the Draco Multiracing USA car, set a new unofficial lap record in
the Buggati Circuit, lapping 123"247 at a speed of 180.763
              km/h.
            Of
course, it has not been a joyful day for all of the teams, as some
teams did spend part of the day trying to solve some small problems,
a normal staff when you are discovery a completely new car.
            However,
most of the teams finished their work today with a very respectable
number of laps. Pons Racings drivers managed to complete 69
              laps, around 288, 42 kilometres.
            Tomorrow,
the teams will spend one more day in Le Mans.
