Avila switches Teams to CJM

Rodolfo Avila is switching from Fujitsu Ten Toyota Team TOM’S to Christian Jones Motorsport for the remainder of this season. He will take over Jone’s Championship winning Dallara 301 Neil Brown Honda whilst the Team Owner will drive their new Dallara 304 car.

Avila joins John O’Hara in a switch away from TOM’S, hoping the change to Honda power will bring an improvement in race results. Jone’s is confident the new ‘low line’ Neil Brown in the back of the Dallara 304 will bring him back on par with current Championship leader, Ananda Mikola. The latter’s Dallara 304 Nissan has so far proved the class of the field, the only blot on Mikola’s copy book being his run to second place in the wet round four held at Zhuhai.

The only front runners in the Overall Series running TOM’S engines will now be Dado Pena and Tyson Sy with possibly Pepon Marave and returning Japanese, Katsuhiro Konno. The Promotions Class remains dominated by TOM’S powered cars.
